Today we’re going to share with you how Kevin McKay, owner of the Worcestershire-based design business Captivate Brands, substantially grew his business with the help of Evesham Transport.
Captivate Brands is a Worcester-based business which designs attractive and practical home and kitchenware products. They use an in-house team of designers based here in the UK, who use their creative flair to design stylish, high-quality products which are created with their ideal customers in mind.
Eight years ago, Kevin approached our Director Paul about providing transport to allow him to exhibit at a trade show. He needed enough space to easily and safely transport a good range of his products plus the exhibition stands, furniture and other equipment he would need to take. Evesham transport offers vehicles in a range of different sizes to suit our customer’s needs so we were able to assist with one of our vehicles to help Captivate Brands attend the trade show.
Captivate Brands was able to exhibit a larger selection of goods at the trade show than he otherwise would have been able to do so, and with his new exhibition equipment and display stands he was able to put together a professional-looking display which attracted a lot of attention. Consequently, this helped to increase the awareness of Captivate Brands and further enhance their reputation among independent retailers which led to more business connections and an increase in orders.
Due to the success of this show, Captivate Brands has expanded and now exhibits at four of their shows each year – one in early spring and one in the summer. Their latest show took place in mid-February. This was at the AIS (Associated Independent Stores) INDX homewares trade show held in Solihull where Captivate Brands were given the perfect opportunity to showcase their kitchen and homeware products. The shows are designed to offer brands in the fashion, home and leisure sectors the chance to showcase their carefully curated products to independent retailers. It’s a great networking opportunity for brands to connect with retailers and for retailers to place orders.
Since the first show Evesham Transport assisted with eight years ago, the needs of Captivate Brands have grown substantially. We now take double the load that we did just a few years ago. Captivate Brands will also be exhibiting at the next trade show for INDX in June or July in Harrogate and their needs are expected to increase even further. Two Luton vans will be required to transport everything they will need for this next show in the summer.
